Caffe Lena:
Every Monday at 7:00pm, 47 Phila St. Saratoga Springs: doors open at 6:00, sign-ups start at 6:30
Literally the best open mic in the North East! Come prepared to play 1 or two songs for a quiet attentive audience. There are often 15-25 people signed up, and some truly incredible talent. Every artist there has had a first time on stage, so don’t worry if you are nervous. There is no place that is more supportive of new performers. (Ask the EWI guy to join you on stage, he loves backing anyone up any any song!)
Quarters:
Every Wednesday at 7:00pm, 183 Ballston Ave, Saratoga Springs: signups start between 6:00 and 6:30
A small friendly bar with a bunch of friendly musicians and patrons. You will probably get Informal and… well… it’s a bar. Performers often invite one (or a bunch) of other folks to join them for some songs.
Moon and River Cafe:
Every Sunday at 7:30pm, 115 South Ferry St., Schenectady: Signups start between 6:30 and 7:00
A very homey little caffe with friendly musicians and staff. There’s some background talking, but it’s way better than a bar and people are there specifically there for the music.
